The Gulfstream G200 offers a broad, stand-up cabin and substantial baggage volume for charter parties seeking long domestic reach in a mature super-midsize platform. The model can be attractive for teams with bulky luggage. However, cabin refurbishment, connectivity and exact passenger layout vary materially across the in-service fleet.
Why the Gulfstream G200 remains a charter consideration
The aircraft entered the market as the IAI Galaxy before Gulfstream acquired Galaxy Aerospace in 2001 and rebranded the platform as the G200. Production continued through 2011 as Gulfstream and IAI prepared the clean-sheet-wing G280 successor, leaving a sizable installed base supported under the Gulfstream product lineage.
Variant note. Early Galaxy and later G200 aircraft share the 1126 type lineage. However, branding, completion and upgrades vary. G280 performance, clean-wing aerodynamics and PlaneView280 avionics do not apply to the G200.

Inside the Gulfstream G200
Typical G200 cabins seat eight or nine passengers in club and divan arrangements, with some approved layouts reaching 10, plus executive tables, a forward galley and an enclosed aft lavatory. The passenger cabin is approximately 868 cubic feet, 24 feet 5 inches long, 7 feet 2 inches wide and 6 feet 3 inches high.
Baggage references distinguish an approximately 125-cubic-foot usable external compartment from a roughly 150-cubic-foot gross convention. So bag count and usable geometry require confirmation. The wide cross-section and windows create useful working space. Seat condition, power, Wi-Fi, entertainment and refreshment equipment depend on the proposed aircraft.
- Seat configuration
- Typically 8–9 executive passengers; up to 10 in selected approved layouts
- Cabin volume
- Approximately 868 cu ft
- Cabin dimensions
- 24 ft 5 in long × 7 ft 2 in wide × 6 ft 3 in high
- Baggage capacity
- Approximately 125 cu ft usable; up to 150 cu ft under a gross convention
Large aft external compartment; sources use different usable-versus-gross boundaries, and the loading aperture, item geometry and weight limits require confirmation on the offered aircraft.
Gulfstream G200 range, cruise speed and flight deck
General Dynamics' 2010 Gulfstream product comparison lists 3,400 nautical miles at Mach 0.75. The reviewed Gulfstream specification profile lists 459 KTAS at Mach 0.80 cruise. Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A turbofans, Collins Pro Line 4 avionics and a swept low wing with winglets define the mature configuration. Actual nonstop feasibility depends on payload, fuel, runway, winds, routing and reserve policy.
So the direct carrier's flight planning controls.
- Range reference
- Approximately 3,400 nm
- General Dynamics/Gulfstream product reference at Mach 0.75; payload, routing, weather and reserves affect actual range.
- Cruise speed reference
- Approximately 459 KTAS at Mach 0.80 cruise
- Reviewed Gulfstream specification-profile cruise reference; not maximum operating Mach or trip-average block speed.
- Engines and efficiency context
- Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306A turbofans
- Fuel use depends on the installed engines, thrust, altitude, payload and cruise settings. An engine model alone does not predict trip fuel use.
- Avionics
- Collins Pro Line 4 in the original configuration; navigation, surveillance and display upgrades vary
- Aerodynamic design
- Swept low wing with winglets

Is the Gulfstream G200 right for your charter?
A G200 can suit eight- or nine-person transcontinental trips that need cabin width and generous luggage capacity while accepting an older-generation cabin and flight deck. Jet Partners can source and compare actual G200 proposals. Travelers should verify refurbishment, connectivity, baggage geometry, operator identity, schedule and written terms rather than assume a generic fleet standard.
Jet Partners compares trip-specific proposals as an air charter broker.
Confirm these details in writing
- Aircraft, cabin layout, passenger count and baggage fit.
- Named direct air carrier and available trip-specific safety information.
- Runway, payload, weather, routing and possible technical-stop limits.
- Total price, inclusions, conditional charges and cancellation terms.
The properly licensed direct air carrier identified in the proposal retains operational control and makes the final flight-operational decisions.
